UC Davis Business Law Journal today announced the activation of its new website - an electronic archive of its articles since the beginning of its publication. The UC Davis Business Law Journal was the first business law journal in the nation to electronically publish articles written by professionals, academics, and law students using a concise, journalistic style. Our four year-old student-run journal accepts submissions of articles from academics and attorneys from all over the United States, and from UC Davis law students. We will release a new issue online in a month.

The Business Law Journal's new, permanent web address is blj.ucdavis.edu. Older URLs (bizlawjournal.ucdavis.edu and www.businesslawjournal.ucdavis.edu) will soon stop working.

Unlike other recent forays into e-publishing by law reviews, such as that by New York University's Journal of Law & Business, the UC Davis Business Law Journal will continue to offer all of its content free and in easy-to-read HTML format. Using an online content creation system similar to that employed by the online magazine Slate (owned and developed by Microsoft), the Business Law Journal's new website makes publishing online easy for its editors and powerfully helpful to its readers. Key features of the new website include:

• Browsing and searching
  Readers can now browse the archives by topic or journal issue, and can search the archives by keyword or full-text.
• New shorter and simpler article URLs.
  Old-style URLs, like
  http://blj.ucdavis.edu/Editions/Spring%202003/bankruptcy_and_the_sarbanes.htm, were long and easy to mistype. The new website automatically displays a page directing you to the new URL.
• Stay current, stay active
  The new website offers an RSS 2.0 feed for blog and news readers and displays current business law news on the front page.
• Easy to cite
  Simply by clicking on a single link on an article page, readers can easily get the complete and correct cite for the article in ALWD, Bluebook, or California Style Manual formats.
• Lexis and Westlaw
  The Business Law Journal and its archives will soon also be available on the Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw online legal databases.
